Installation Notes
QNX Board Support Packages8.0BSP User's GuideNXP S32G399 RDB3NXPNXPARM
These installation notes describe how to build, work with, and run this BSP.
Overview
Here's the process to build and run your BSP:
- Download the BSP, set up your environment, and extract the BSP.
For more information, see
Download and set up the BSP.
- Connect your target board. After you connect the hardware,
it may be necessary to set DIP switches on your board to further
configure it. For more information about how to connect
to your board, see
Set up the hardware.
-
Create a bootable microSD card.
After you create this card, you can either
transfer prebuilt images that come with the BSP or
change the buildfile to build your own, customized image.
For more information about how to create a bootable
microSD card,
see
Prepare a bootable microSD card.
- If this is the first time you're running the BSP,
you can transfer the provided IFS image file to the
microSD card to boot your board using U-Boot.
To get U-Boot, you must download it from the vendor of
the NXP S32G-VNP-RDB3. For more information, see
Transfer the image.
- After you've put your image on the card, you can boot
it.
For more information about booting your board, see
Boot using U-Boot.
After your board boots, you can use that image to understand how it works. Depending on the other devices that you've connected to the board, you may need to modify configuration settings on the image.
At some point, you may want to customize the image and rebuild it.
For specific information about building the image for this board,
see the Build the BSP
chapter in this guide.
For generic information about modifying and building an image, see the Building Embedded Systems
guide in the QNX SDP 8.0
documentation.
