PCI Hierarchy: Partitioning and Segmentation

Partitioning and segmentation provide flexibility in using the PCI subsystem, and specifically the pci-server. It provides the ability to achieve:

• isolation
• resilience
• scalability

  Separate pci-server instances can manage designated segments of the hierarchy which in turn can enable all of the controls, including separate process priority and scheduling.
