Before You Begin
Before you begin working with this BSP you should become familiar with the resources available to you when building QNX embedded systems.
Essential information
Before you install your BSP, review the following documentation:
Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC ZCU102 Evaluation Kit:
https://www.xilinx.com/products/boards-and-kits/ek-u1-zcu102-g.html
Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC ZCU106 Evaluation Kit:
Xilinx ZCU102 Evaluation Board Users Guide:
Xilinx ZCU106 Evaluation Board Users Guide:
- Building Embedded Systems. This guide contains general information about working with BSPs from QNX Software Systems that's common to all BSPs and is available from the QNX Software Development Platform 8.0 documentation.
Required software
To work with this BSP, you require the following:
- The prebuilt BOOT.BIN binary which consists of a series of boot asset files including U-boot and DTB. The release archive can be downloaded from the Xilinx Releases wiki at https://xilinx-wiki.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/A/pages/18842316/Linux+Prebuilt+Images .
- BSP ZIP file for the board.
- QNX Software Development Platform 8.0 installed on a Linux or Windows host system.
- CP210x USB to UART bridge Virtual COM Port (VCP) driver on your host development machine to establish a terminal session with the board USB. You can download the appropriate device driver for Linux or Windows from the Silicon Labs website at https://www.silabs.com/developers/usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-drivers.
- A terminal emulation program (Qtalk, Hyperterminal, PuTTy, etc.) to connect
to the board for debugging. Alternatively, you can use
a
sshsession from the QNX Momentics IDE with usernameqnxuserand passwordqnxuser.Warning:QNX does not recommend hardcoded passwords on systems and that the BSP is configured like this for developer purposes only. For more information, see Systems without passwords in the QNX OS System Security Guide in the QNX SDP 8.0 documentation.
