In part, SSD drives require a trim command sent from the filesystem to the drive to clean up old used blocks that are no longer in use. QNX 4's filesystem and block drivers do not support this command. Failing to issue this command will result in the filesystem eventually filling up with stale blocks. The firmware on the drive will eventually issue its own command to find and cleanup stale blocks, however this command can be very slow. The result will potentially be extremely slow filesystem performance.
