The QNX Momentics Tool Suite and the QNX Neutrino RTOS components are initially delivered together (as the QNX Software Development Platform) and are licensed on either a named-user or floating-license basis for development purposes. Optional QNX middleware products are usually delivered separately and may have a different licensing model. For example, QNX acoustics products are licensed for development purposes on a project basis, and the QNX CAR™ Platform for Infotainment is licensed on a subscription basis and generally only for QNX-based automotive development projects. In addition, there may be a separate acoustics license agreement that applies for acoustics products which are hosted on non-QNX operating systems or directly on Digital Signal Processors (DSPs). The QNX Product Portfolio is currently licensed under three different licensing streams (subject to any requirement for a separate acoustics license, as referred to above), defined by their corresponding QNX Developer Licenses (QDLs):
- QNX Commercial Software License Agreement (CSLA): This license defines the commercial stream, for those interested in producing and/or distributing commercial products which embed QNX technology or offering related services. You will also find relevant information here if you have licensed QNX software in an end user product and have received a corresponding QNX License Certificate.
- QNX Partner Software License Agreement (PSLA): This license defines the stream for members of the QNX eco-system, e.g. those wanting to obtain QSS software to develop products that are complementary to the QNX Product PortfolioDevelopment Suite, or to assist QNX customers in their product development efforts.
- QNX Evaluation, Non-Commercial & Academic End User License Agreement (NCEULA): This license defines the stream for those who want to evaluate our software, and for certain other non-commercial developers (e.g. academic faculty members and students participating in approved academic and other non-commercial research initiatives).
