Scalable, survivable multi-core systems
Large-scale, performance-hungry systems are driving the need for the increased CPU capacity of multi-core processors. Likewise these systems are driving the need for software techniques that take advantage of multi-core performance improvements without sacrificing reliability and survivability.
This demonstration showcases a number of QNX technologies for creating scalable, survivable systems. Attendees will learn how to benefit from multi-core processors by dynamically using multiple CPU cores in software as well as how to use partitioning to protect software and add a new level of survivability.

Multiple tools, a single IDE

Technologies on display include Gracenote Playlist Plus - an embedded playlist generation solution. Playlist Plus is designed for consumer electronics devices such as car and home stereos that do not have Internet connectivity, CPU resources, or disk drive storage to support traditional disk or file recognition solutions. Ideal for any device that allows connectivity of portable MP3 players, Playlist Plus enables cataloging of contents on the device or the connected player; normalizes the artist name data for easy navigation; associates descriptive information such as genre, era, and origin with each song; and supports automatic “More Like This” playlist generation.
