pidin syspage=strings segfault   ________________________________________________________________________ Applicable Environment ________________________________________________________________________ Topic: system page strings section limitation SDP: 8.0.0, 7.1.0 Target: Any supported target ________________________________________________________________________ Issue ________________________________________________________________________ There is currently a known issue where if you add a string to syspage that is more than 80 characters long, it will cause a segmentation fault when pidin syspage or pidin syspage=strings is called. This issue can also occur if startup verbosity is set to three or more v's. The reference number to the JIRA is J2908793. ________________________________________________________________________ Recommendation ________________________________________________________________________ There are two workarounds at this time: Do not use strings with lengths that would trigger the fault. Decrease startup verbosity to 2 v's or less. ________________________________________________________________________ NOTE: This entry has been validated against the SDP version listed above. Use caution when considering this advice for any other SDP version.
