Applicable Environment
________________________________________________________________________
  • Topic: system page strings section limitation
  • SDP: 8.0.0, 7.1.0
  • Target: Any supported target

Issue
________________________________________________________________________

There is currently a known issue where if you add a string to syspage that is more than 80 characters long, it will cause a segmentation fault when pidin syspage or pidin syspage=strings is called. This issue can also occur if startup verbosity is set to three or more v's. The reference number to the JIRA is J2908793.

Recommendation
________________________________________________________________________

There are two workarounds at this time:
  • Do not use strings with lengths that would trigger the fault.
  • Decrease startup verbosity to 2 v's or less.
