Using a devi-xxx touchscreen device with Composition Manager

Applicable Environment

  • Topic: Using a devi-xxx touchscreen device with Composition Manager
  • SDP: 6.4.1
  • Target: Any supported target

Recommendation
________________________________________________________________________

Composition Manager is setup to use the devi interface directly, so even if io-hid is not used on your target, you can still use the touch screen. Specifically when you start the devi-xxx touchscreen driver, it will map in /dev/devi/touch0 which can be used by io-winmgr.

From the docs:
http://www.qnx.com/developers/docs/6.4.1/composition_manager/dev_guide/configuring.html
Notice the Global Setting "input". If you just set this to all or specify each of the devices you would like to connect to including 'touch0' this should configure io-winmgr to pick up these events.

NOTE: This entry has been validated against the SDP version listed above. Use caution when considering this advice for any other SDP version. For supported releases, please reach out to QNX Technical Support if you have any questions/concerns.
