Using RPC applications causes errors to be logged to slogger

________________________________________________________________________

Applicable Environment
________________________________________________________________________
  • Topic: Using RPC applications causes errors to be logged to slogger
  • SDP: 6.4.1
  • Target: Any supported target
________________________________________________________________________

Solution
________________________________________________________________________
When running RPC apps, you might see the following messages in the system logger:

cannot create socket for udp6
cannot create socket for tcp6

They refer to the fact that the RPC lib is attempting to communicate with the ipv6 stack, as well as ipv4. If the ipv6 stack (io-pkt-v6...) is not being used, the messages may be logged. They can safely be ignored if you are uninterested in ipv6 usage.
