QNX processes are spawned at a memory locations < 4GB by default. This is because many drivers are using 32bit DMA points and many applications are not tested in a configuration with > 4GB.
To enables extended addressing run startup-* with -x. This lets you access physical addresses above 4 GB. Selective applications that are known to work with 64bit addresses can be spawned with the SPAWN_PADDR64_SAFE flag. Or with on -P from command line.
Note: the devb- driver (io-blk) uses 15% of the RAM for the cache by default. This should be adjusted for a system with lots of memory.
