It is pretty easy to add a message to the slogger from within a program, yet there is no way to add a message from a script. This can be quite useful if one needs to debug a startup script when there is no console or serial interface available. So the messages can be logged and checked via telnet. This can also be used to leave a mark whenever a script is called.
