Booting from a USB CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive does not work in QNX Neutrino 6.4.0 and 6.4.1 when using a boot image based on the diskboot application. This is also the case for the QNX Neutrino self-hosted install CD. As well, if you are creating a Neutrino run-time CD that makes use of a diskboot based boot image, this will also not work.
There are several work-arounds for this issue.
1.) Plug a SATA or EIDE CD/DVD-Drive into your system and boot from this.
2.) If you are creating a run-time kit disk, you may wish to consider making a boot image that does not use the diskboot application.
3.) Use the QNX 6.5.0 instflop-rtkit.dat and qnxbase.qfs files for building the QNX 6.4 installation CD. The USB CD-ROM issue is fixed in the 6.5.0 instflop-rtkit.dat (diskboot) and the QNX 6.5.0 files will just be used for installation purposes.
