Recommendation
________________________________________________________________________

For disk-based x86 systems, there are two levels of boot loader that locate and copy the boot file from the disk into memory.

These are:
ipl-diskpc1

This is called the primary or partition loader, which prints the the message "Press F1-F4 to select drive or select
partition 1,2,3?"

ipl-diskpc2

This is the secondary or OS loader, which prints the message "Hit Esc for .altboot", a bunch of dots and possibly an 'S' if no OS signature was found and 'D' if there is a disk error.

NOTE: This entry has been validated against the SDP version listed above. Use caution when considering this advice for any other SDP version. For supported releases, please reach out to QNX Technical Support if you have any questions/concerns.
