Migrating from QNX RTOS v4 to QNX Momentics Development Suite?

QNX continues to help existing customers and encourages new customers to migrate to the QNX MomenticsR development suite.

To help you migrate your projects from your QNX RTOS v4 host to the QNX Momentics development suite, we have created tools and documentation to walk you through the process. While the QNX Neutrino RTOS is an evolution from QNX RTOS v4, it changes the methodology and APIs significantly enough to require changes to your source.

Step 1: Click here to download the latest Migration Guide. (248k)

The migration tools are divided into two packages: a tar archive for your QNX RTOS v4 host and a software package for your QNX Momentics development suite host machine. The first archive provides analysis tools for you to run against your project. It will add comments to your source code to help you in the porting process.

Step 2: Click here to download the QNX RTOS v4 source code analysis tool.

The second archive is a QNX package that contains documentation, libraries, and a service to enable your QNX RTOS v4 software to run under the QNX Neutrino RTOS v6.2x. These tools were designed as an interim step in your porting process. They will help you get a basic QNX RTOS v4 system up and running on the QNX Neutrino RTOS.

Step 3: Click here to download the QNX Neutrino RTOS compatibility tools.

Once you have moved your QNX RTOS v4 project over to the QNX Momentics development suite, you will want to follow the Migration Guide and identify the trouble spots as commented with the mig4nto source-analysis tool. Remember, the compatibility libraries aren't designed to be deployed in a commercial environment. You may not be satisfied with the performance or may experience other unforseen issues. These tools were designed to aid you in your porting process.
