Cybercom to Supply Bluetooth® connectivity framework for QNX CAR 2 Application Platform

Cybercom has been selected by QNX Software Systems Limited, a global supplier of software platforms for the in-car infotainment market, to integrate Cybercom’s Bluetooth® connectivity solution, Cybercom blueGO, into the QNX CAR™ 2 application platform. QNX Software Systems will demonstrate the platform this week at the Telematics Detroit conference, from June 6 to 7.

-- QNX Partner News Release --

“QNX Software Systems is an industry leader with their QNX CAR 2 application platform, which offers the latest technology within a powerful and flexible framework for building connected cars. We are very proud to be selected to integrate our Bluetooth® connectivity capabilities into the platform,” said Kristian Palm, business director, Bluetooth® solutions at Cybercom.

In partnership with Sybase iAnywhere, Cybercom will supply its Bluetooth connectivity framework for in-vehicle infotainment for the QNX CAR 2 application platform. QNX Software Systems plans to offer the QNX CAR 2 application platform with blueGO pre-installed and pre-tested for compatibility with hundreds of devices, providing “interoperability off-the-shelf”.

Cybercom blueGO, now in its third generation, reduces development effort and time to market for system suppliers implementing in-vehicle Bluetooth® applications, such as hands-free telephony, music streaming, and Internet connectivity.

“Cybercom, together with iAnywhere, provides a solution that meets our customers’ demands for time to market and interoperability, and helps them create a compelling user experience. Furthermore, Cybercom can provide the professional services and Bluetooth® expertise that our customers require,” said Romain Saha, segment manager at QNX Software Systems.

The QNX CAR 2 application platform integrates an array of technologies to enable development of in-car infotainment systems. The platform includes the QNX Neutrino® Realtime Operating System, an auto-centric HTML5 framework, a re-skinnable user interface, a multimedia framework, an acoustic processing library for hands-free systems, and smartphone and tablet connectivity.
