QNX Joins Car Connectivity ConsortiumLeading supplier of standards-based software platforms for automotive infotainment seeks to help further MirrorLink™ standard
OTTAWA, April 11, 2012 — QNX Software Systems Limited, a global leader in software platforms for the in-car infotainment and telematics market, today announced that it has joined the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC), an organization driving innovation for phone-centric car connectivity solutions. The CCC is dedicated to global cross-industry collaboration in developing the MirrorLink standard for smartphone in-vehicle connectivity.
QNX Software Systems prides itself on offering developers a software platform for car infotainment that supports a range of industry standards and initiatives, such as HTML5. As a Core member of the CCC, QNX Software Systems will have access to the MirrorLink specifications under development and the various MirrorLink work groups. Moreover, QNX Software Systems will be able to support future MirrorLink options in QNX-based systems, and help drive research and development for the standard.
