QNX Software Systems Marks 10th Anniversary of Operation in Japan

OTTAWA, October 21, 2009 — As part of QNX Software Systems’ 10 year anniversary of operation in Japan, the company announced plans to hold its annual QNX Japan Technology Innovation Conference, Tuesday, October 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Canadian Embassy in the North/South Halls in Tokyo. More than one dozen QNX partners and distributors in Japan will take part in the conference and help the company celebrate its success and growth since its first office in Japan opened in 1999.

Registration for the QNX Japan Technology Innovation Conference begins at 9:30 a.m. Kimm Krueger, the company’s director of Asia Pacific Sales, will deliver the keynote address, focused on the company’s 2010 technology roadmap and next steps in continuing strong relationships with partners and distributors. In addition, many technology updates, roadmaps, and whitepapers will be presented. Partners and distributors will also showcase their latest products.

Companies participating in this year’s conference are part of the QNX Solutions Network in Japan. Participating partners include: Renesas Technology Corp, Freescale Semiconductor Japan Ltd., ARM K.K., Akita Electronics Systems Co., Ltd., Xilinx, Elektrobit Nippon K.K., NVIDIA Corporation, Kontron Technology Japan Co., Ltd., and Fujisoft Inc. Participating distributors include: Advanced Systems Co., Ltd., Forks Inc., and Mitachi Co., Ltd. Aisin AW Co., Ltd., a customer of QNX Software Systems, will assist with the demos.

“Japan continues to be a high-growth market for QNX as annual sales increased more than 20 percent in the past year. We are poised for continuing growth, especially in the industrial automation, automotive, and medical markets,” said Krueger. “In celebrating our 10 year anniversary in Japan, QNX owes a great deal to our extensive list of partners and distributors, due to their knowledge of the region and of our product line.”
