New Release of Empress Ultra Embedded Database

Beltsville, MD, March 3, 2009 — Empress Software, developer of the EMPRESS Embedded Database, has just released the Empress Ultra Embedded Database V10.20 for the QNX Neutrino RTOS 6.4.0. Empress embedded database technology is designed to answer the specialized needs of the most demanding embedded requirements – 24 x 7 reliability, high-performance, and zero-maintenance. Empress also takes full advantage of the QNX Neutrino RTOS’s power-safe file system to protect critical data in the event of a sudden power failure or shutdown.

The newest version of the Empress Embedded Database is now available on the latest version of the widely popular real-time operating system QNX Neutrino RTOS for both Intel® x86 and Intel® Atom. For the Intel Atom architecture, Empress Ultra Embedded V10.20 was validated to run on the Intel D945GCLFAtom board with the QNX Neutrino RTOS 6.4.0 installed as the operating system. No changes to the Intel Atom board or to the QNX Neutrino RTOS were needed. From handheld devices to complex intelligent systems, Empress and the QNX Neutrino RTOS scale readily and work in harmony.
