Seminar Series: Designing systems that make full use of multicore processors
Join QNX Software Systems, Freescale and Arrow Electronics as we deliver a half-day seminar series on how to maximize multicore performance.
Running software on a multicore processor is, in many cases, fairly easy. The real challenge is getting the software to make full use of all the processor's cores. The seminar will address this and explore:
- Threading models for creating multiple concurrent tasks
- Parallel processing on multicore devices
- Design patterns for increasing parallelism (worker threads, peer threads, etc.)
- Techniques to optimize cache usage
- Using advanced multicore-aware tools to identify opportunities for parallelism and performance optimization
