What's in this patch?
Binaries
This patch updates the debug malloc libraries to provide full support for the features of the Memory Allocation perspective in the QNX Momentics IDE version 4.0.1.

To use these features, you must copy the appropriate version of these libraries to your target machine. For more information about the libraries, see the IDE User's Guide. |

The following files are installed under $QNX_TARGET/usr/include:
- usr/include/malloc/malloc.h
- usr/include/malloc_g/malloc
- usr/include/malloc_g/malloc-control.h

- usr/include/malloc_g/prototypes.h
Fixed issues
- If you attempt to run applications that are dynamically linked to the libmalloc.so.2 library, you would receive the following error message:
Could not resolve all symbols.
The libmalloc library was updated. (Ref# 45727)
- When performing a memory trace or using Memory Analysis Tooling, if the process ID was ten digits long, the IDE would not display any results in the results view. Now, the libmalloc_g protocol supports process IDs with ten digits. (Ref# 43765)
- If Memory Analysis Tooling in the IDE detected a Null pointer dereference error in your program, it was returning an inappropriate error message given the severity of the error. Now, if a Null pointer dereference is detected, the IDE returns an appropriate error message in the results view. (Ref# 43567)
- When Memory Analysis Tooling is enabled, if the Create control thread checkbox is selected for the memory analysis launch settings, the IDE creates a channel with flags that conflict with the application channel flags. Now, when Memory Analysis Tooling is enabled for a project, the Create control thread checkbox is automatically disabled. (Ref# 44018)
Known issues
The libmalloc_g library doesn't currently work on ARM targets using 6.3.0 SP1. The IDE's Memory Analysis Toolkit gives an "unknown symbol" error, and then terminates the process. (Ref# 39523)
