Ittiam’s multimedia IPs provide the best in class performance and span multiple platforms including ARM, DSP and x86 based processors. In particular, Ittiam’s video codecs on the ARM Cortex™ architecture are designed to make optimal use of the NEON™ processing engine. Additionally, the video codecs utilize advanced multi core implementations of the ARM v7 based processors and is available as a multi-core offering as well. Ittiam’s portfolio includes the latest HEVC, VP9 decoders along with the GPU based implementation of the same for additional power benefits. Ittiam Systems' Audio Solutions product portfolio includes a rich set of audio codecs (encoders and decoders), audio post processing components, and acoustic software for handheld consumer applications (portable and mobile) and high-fidelity audio for the home and professional audio segments. The Automotive Business Unit (ABU) at Ittiam focusses on enabling infotainment on the IVI headunit as well as media playback using cutting-edge connectivity stacks from the brought in devices onto the headunit. The backbone of the headunit playback is Ittiam’s comprehensive portfolio of Audio, Image and Video decoders. Typically, auto-grade processors are performance challenged owing to reliability constraints and hence need to be specially optimized for these platforms. This forms one of Ittiam’s core offerings and competencies. Ittiam has a history of integrating its multimedia components with QNX across different markets like automotive and consumer devices. Ittiam has successfully delivered QNX based multimedia system solutions to several Tier 1 automotive customers. Unlike consumer grade devices the product life cycle for automotive systems is vastly different. Ittiam ABU’s support functions and processes are specifically tuned to handle automotive customer needs with long-term support options.

In addition to multimedia, Ittiam also focuses on connectivity solutions for the Automotive. Ittiam has developed the Miracast stack using home grown Ittiam IPs to deliver low latency screen mirroring use case. Using Miracast, one can enjoy wireless connectivity of brought in devices to the in-car infotainment system. This product is available for customers to license along with the optional features of UIBC (User Input Back Channel Support) and HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) necessary for a seamless and secure automotive use case.
