Intel, the world's largest chip maker, is also a leading manufacturer of computer, networking and communications products. In its early days, QNX supported only the X86 and IA based architectures, and was optimized primarily for Intel’s silicon. QNX was the first RTOS to support the MMU on the 286 and has been demonstrating technical leadership on Intel’s products for over 20 years since. Both companies have since expanded their silicon support and now QNX supports Intel on both IA and XScale product families. QNX also takes advantage of Intel’s software investments and is currently working to integrate optimized IA compilers into our product line.
