Uncompress frozen files (UNIX)
Syntax:
melt [-cfvVz] [filename...]
Description:
The melt utility is equivalent to freeze -d.
See the freeze utility for details.
Note: The
freeze,
melt, and
fcat compression utilities will eventually become deprecated in favor of
toybox utilities, which include,
gzip,
gunzip, and
zcat.
The
freeze suite of utilities will continue to be provided for quite some time
before being eliminated completely.
