Why RSS?

What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS), also known as News Feeds, is an XML-based format for content distribution. News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines in one place, as soon as its published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I get and use RSS?

To view RSS feeds, you will need an RSS reader, news reader, or aggregator. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. Most are available as desktop software that you download and install on your computer. Several Web-based news readers are available as well.

Browser-based news readers let you catch up with your RSS feed subscriptions from any computer, whereas downloadable applications let you store them on your main computer, in the same way that you either download your e-mail using Outlook, or keep it on a web-based service like Hotmail.

Although we have tested these feeds with the following readers, NewsGator, NetNewsWire, Firefox, Safari, the Google Toolbar and Feed Reader, we cannot guarantee that it will work with all readers. They can be downloaded by clicking their names in the preceeding sentence.
