QNX Drives Home with 2010 Telematics Award

  • DETROIT — Telematics Detroit 2010 Conference — June 8, 2010 - QNX Software Systems, the global leader in operating systems and middleware for the automotive telematics and infotainment market, today announced that the QNX® CAR application platform has won a 2010 Telematics Award, in the Best Telematics Component category. Launched in 2009, QNX CAR provides automotive OEMs and tier one suppliers with a set of pre-assembled reference implementations that reduce the risk and cost of building in-car infotainment systems.

    Two popular automotive products that incorporate QNX technology also drove home with top honors. The Audi A8 MMI System with the Google Earth™ mapping service won in the Best Embedded Telematics Navigation Product category, and the OnStar® system won in the Best Use of Telematics Technology in the Public Sector category. QNX Software Systems also clinched a finalist spot in the Industry Newcomer category, for its contributions to the ng Connect LTE Connected Car.

    The Telematics Awards recognize the most innovative people, products, and companies in the automotive telematics industry. Winners are chosen by an independent panel of experts from the automotive, mobile, and web industries.
