The reference images that come with this product can help you
quickly evaluate features or provide a starting point for developing on the
QNX Platform for ADAS and experimenting with various features.
The provided reference images typically contain a subset of the supported features for a
specific hardware platform. You can download the reference image you want from
the
QNX Software Center. After the image is installed, you can find
in the
$QNX_BASE/targetImages/adas
directory on your host system, where
$QNX_BASE
is the directory you installed the
QNX Platform for ADAS.
Note: These reference images are
large, so ensure you have sufficient diskspace on your system before you
install it from the QNX Software Center.
After you install the reference image, you can follow
the Getting Started guide for that platform to get image running on your target
board. For more information about the guides that matches the images you
installed, see Reference images available.
In some cases, the reference image doesn't run a feature by default. In some cases,
you'll simply augment the image to support that feature. In others, you may need to import a
library, do some additional development, and then build a new image.
For information about building your own image, see
Working with Target Images
guide for this product.
Note: Your board hardware may not support all available features.
For example, if a specific board doesn't support USB, then USB cameras won't be supported.
See the
Reference image sensor support chapter in this book
for more information.
Before you decide which reference image is the best to use as a starting point
for your development, we recommend that you review the following sections:
-
Reference images available, which summarizes
the available reference images for this release. The hardware platform you
choose should be as close to a match as possible in terms of hardware
specifications (hardware processor architecture, vendor, GPU, etc.)
with your production hardware platform.
-
Feature availability by hardware platform, which summarizes
the features and capabilities each reference image has. Unless noted,
all features are supported on all hardware platforms in this release.
-
Reference image sensor support, which summarizes the
various cameras, lidar, radar, and GPS systems that are supported on each
reference image. Depending on the connectors available for each
hardware platform, some boards might not support all cameras or sensors.
In some cases, a CAN-to-USB or Serial-to-USB adapter is required.
Sensor and camera support should match what you plan to use in production,
such as radar, lidar, GPS, or camera systems.
-
Reference image vision-processing support, which summarizes the
vision-processing software that is integrated with the reference image. Unless
noted otherwise, this vision-processing software and the algorithms it provides
are supported on all hardware platforms in this release.
