Fixed issues

  • We fixed an issue where QNX Software Center would sometimes crash shortly after being launched on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. (Ref# J2877060)

  • We fixed an issue where QNX Software Center would sometimes crash when activating a license on Windows 10. (Ref# 2876041)

  • We fixed an issue where the License Key Selection dialog would display an incorrect message. (Ref# 2871945)

  • The Licenses perspective of the GUI now correctly lists deployed licenses as "Deployed", rather than "Assigned". (Ref# 2871002)

  • We fixed an issue where, if you had imported a text-based patch set to create a new installation, the new installation may not have contained all of the packages found in the original installation. (Ref# 2815336)

  • Launching QNX Momentics IDE from within QNX Software Center will now launch the correct version of the IDE. (Ref# 2805263, 2814965)

  • We fixed an issue where, if you used the -selfupdate command-line option to update QNX Software Center, and then ran the -version option, the command would hang and wouldn't print the version number. (Ref# J2780051)

  • You can now uninstall an optional package if its dependency is optional. (Ref# J2766646)

  • We fixed an issue where on occasion, a selected package in the Updates tab would cause the Properties view to incorrectly display the package's properties. (Ref# J2732527)

  • We fixed an issue where, if you dragged the view panel (i.e. the area that displays the various tabs) away from the main window, the behavior of the UI would change. ((Ref# J2730332)

  • We fixed an issue specific to macOS, where resizing the main window could, in some scenarios, cause the QNX Software Center to crash. (Ref# J2711693)

  • We fixed an issue that caused the Launch Momentics control in the Welcome Screen to not work if certain packages were not installed on the host. (Ref# J2552337)

  • We fixed an issue where, if you removed the last installation on your workstation and exited the QNX Software Center before the removal was complete, a large amount of content could have been left uninstalled on your disk. (Ref# J2224340)

  • We fixed an issue on some Linux distributions where, if you right-clicked on a package, selected Properties, and tried to click on multiple links, the links would not open successfully. (Ref# J2705680)

Known issues

  • When you're prompted to update the QNX Software Center, a popup window asks you if you'd like to restart the application after the installation is complete. If you click Yes, you may get an error message that the center has stopped working or the application may enter an infinite loop. (Ref# J2553359, 2811660, 2895354)
Workaround: Do not select the Restart Now option after an update. Instead, select No and restart manually after the update has been completed. If you did click Restart Now, there are a few possible outcomes. If the application crashes or exits without relauching, ignore this and restart manually. If the application enters an infinite restart loop, try to kill it with the task manager. If this does not work, restart your computer and the QNX Software Center should be updated upon relaunching.

  • When you use the -myqnx.password option on the command line, the QNX Software Center saves your password as cleartext in its log file. (Ref# J1692112)
Workaround: To avoid this issue, specify -myqnx.password in an options file, using the @options_file argument.

    Note:

Always make sure to check for sensitive information before transmitting a log file.

  • The QNX Software Center can’t activate a license key if your workstation sits behind a SOCKS proxy or behind an authenticating HTTP proxy that uses anything other than Basic authentication. (Ref# J2221051)
Workaround: Use a Basic authentication proxy or perform manual product activation, as described in the QNX Software Center User’s Guide.

  • From the Licenses perspective, if you right-click on a license and open the Properties, clicking "Download License Certificate PDF" will redirect you to the wrong link. (Ref# J2889356)
Workaround: The certificate can be viewed online by logging into the myQNX portal.

  • A patchset exported from an incomplete installation cannot be installed on its own. An incomplete installation is a result of selectively adding a few packages to an empty installation. (Ref# J2891406)
Workaround: Such a patchset can only be installed on an existing installation. Instead, create a patchset from a full installation.

  • If you have multiple licenses activated on more than one machine, you may be presented with a license compliance error. (Ref# J2876541)
Solution: You can safely ignore this warning.

  • If you install an experimental package and then deactivate Install experimental packages in the Installation Properties dialog, the QNX Software Center won’t let you install, uninstall, or repair any packages in the affected installation. (Ref# J2812561)
Workaround: If you've installed experimental packages, leave Install experimental packages enabled.

  • The Proxy Connections window of the QNX Software Center displays settings for HTTP/HTTPs proxies and for SOCKS proxies, but only the HTTP/HTTPS settings are supported. (Ref# J2752710)

  • If you attempt to add an installation while another installation is in progress, the installation wizard may freeze. Also, the installation in progress may not complete successfully. (Ref# J2644173, 2507085, 2222799, 2801650)
Workaround: Avoid adding an installation while another installation is in progress.

  • If you uninstall the last package from an installation that isn’t a QNX SDP 7.* baseline installation, the installation isn't removed, even though it's now empty (i.e. the Installed tab shows no packages for the installation). (Ref# J2557464)
Workaround: To remove the installation itself, go to the Advanced tab and select Remove Installation.

  • You can’t re-import an exported report if the report omits the NAME, BUILDID, and DIGESTSHA512 fields. (Ref# J2372364)
Workaround: Before exporting a report, make sure that, at a minimum, it contains these fields.

  • On Windows, if you uninstall the QNX Software Center while it is running or while any of its files are open in another program, the uninstaller won’t remove the open files. It will, however, report that it ran successfully. (Ref# J1684312)
Workaround: Remove the left-over files manually.
