As the director of automotive business development for QNX Software Systems, Andrew Poliak is responsible for building, developing, and maintaining relationships in the automotive value chain.
Automakers, tier one automotive suppliers, and automotive industry analysts all recognize Mr. Poliak as an automotive thought leader. He is a founding member of multiple consortia (COMET, SH-Navi, now with ng Connect to bring LTE wireless broadband to the automobile), speaks frequently at automotive telematics events, and advises analysts on trends and issues in the automotive market. He holds patents for a framework that consolidates access to multimedia devices, and for social in-vehicle navigation via images encoded with location data. Recently, he helped define and launch the QNX CAR Application Platform, which significantly reduces the upfront engineering needed to develop connected in-vehicle systems.
Mr. Poliak holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business with an emphasis in Information Systems from the University of Washington.
Ian Ferguson is responsible for supporting ARM’s silicon and software partners drive into a broad set of Embedded applications, including white goods, smartgrid and both under-the-hood and in-cabin automotive electronics. Ferguson has over 22 years of experience in engineering, marketing and sales roles with the majority of his time focused on processor-based SoCs that targeted embedded applications. Prior to joining ARM, Ferguson worked as VP of Marketing at Enigma Semiconductor, a company that developed high performance switching chipsets for the telecom market. Prior to Enigma, Ferguson held product line management and strategic marketing roles at QuickLogic, IDT and Motorola. Ferguson has a B.S.E.E. from Loughborough University in the UK.
Kelei Shen is the vice president of Harman International’s China R&D Center, where he has also held the post of senior director. Previously, Mr. Shen worked at Harman/Becker Automotive Systems, where he held roles of increasing responsibility, including principal engineer, software platform manager, and senior manager of electronic system integration. He has also worked as a senior software engineer at Siemens VDO and as a software engineer at DSP Technology Inc.
Mr. Shen holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Eastern Michigan University; he also holds a degree from the Shanghai Theatre Academy.
Luo Feng is a Professor at Tongji University in Shanghai. He specializes in automotive electronic control systems, with a specific focus on automotive networks and communications. Dr. Feng is also a director or deputy director of several automotive projects at the Tongji University including the New Energy Automotive Engineering Centre, the Freescale Automotive Joint Lab, and the YiChi In-Vehicle Network Technology Joint Lab. He holds a Ph.D degree in Engineering from Tongji University.
Zhenjun Zhu is currently Lead for Ecosystem and Partnerships, APAC Marketing for Alcatel-Lucent and is responsible for building and maintaining ecosystem programs, including the NG Connect program, in Asia Pacific. He joined Alcatel-Lucent in 1998 and since then has held multiple product and solution marketing and business development positions in US and Asia Pacific. Prior to this, he was a senior member of the technical staff with SBC Communications Inc. (now AT&T), in Austin, Texas. In addition, Zhenjun Zhu has held multiple R&D and technical support positions with IBM Canada, Nortel, and Newbridge Networks (later acquired by Alcatel). He has an EMBA degree from University of Maryland’s Robert Smith Business School and also holds an M.Sc.degree from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Western Ontario, both in Canada. The winner of 1994-1995 Canadian National Science Research award, he is currently based in Shanghai, China, at Alcatel-Lucent’s APAC headquarters.
