This section recommends the settings you should
use when launching your own QNX AMI instance.
You must be familiar with launching an instance from the Amazon EC2 console.
For details, follow the instructions to Quickly launch an instance
in the Amazon EC2 User Guide at
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-launch-instance-wizard.html.
To launch a new QNX AMI instance,
select a QNX AMI from
Application and OS Images (Amazon Machine Image);
enter
QNX into the search bar
and find the QNX AMI under
AWS Marketplace AMIs.
For the other parameters, we recommend the following settings:
- Under Network settings, choose Edit.
Choose your desired VPC and security group,
then choose Enable for
Auto-assign public IP.
- Under Storage (volumes),
choose Advanced to reveal the
EBS Volumes details.
Open the volume details and choose Yes for
Delete on termination.
If necessary, then you may also add more storage at this stage.
After your instance launches, follow the earlier instructions to
connect to your existing instance.
When the instance first boots,
the instance terminal prompts you to input new passwords for the
root user and the
qnxuser user.
In the EC2 serial console, the first prompt appears when
you give keyboard focus to the terminal and press ENTER.
