Downloading using the Terminal view

The Terminal view lets you establish many types of connections to a target system. One common usage of this view is when you don't have an image running on your target but you need to communicate with its startup program (e.g., a ROM monitor) so you can download an image (and then boot from it). Because no TCP/IP stack is running on your target at this stage, you can't use services such as Telnet that rely on a network connection, so you must establish a serial link with the target.
