Getting Started with the QNX Platform for ADAS

The QNX Platform for ADAS is built on the QNX Neutrino RTOS, which is a highly available, secure, realtime operating system.

The QNX Platform for ADAS includes vision and sensor capabilities, utilities, communication protocols, and integrations with third-party software, which you use to build an advanced driver assistance system. You also can use vision-processing for this product. For more information about some of the available third-party algorithms, see Reference image vision-processing support.

Installing the product

To get started, you must first have the QNX Software Center installed on your system. For information on the version to use, see the release notes for the Typical Configuration. You then use QNX Software Center to install the following software components on your host system:
Note: Ensure that you look at the Release Notes for this product from QNX Software Center.
  • QNX Software Development Platform 7.0.
  • QNX Platform for ADAS 2.0 - Typical Configuration (or QNX Platform for ADAS 2.0 - Locked Typical Configuration)
  • The reference image for a target that you want to use. For more information, see Working with reference images chapter in this guide.
  • You can install different Hardware Support packages based on the hardware platform you want to develop on. The Hardware Support packages install the necessary image generation tools, hardware-specific components for generating an image, and the board support package BSP.
