Description:

The /etc/ftpusers file is used by the pam_ftpusers module for access control purposes. This module can be used by any utility on the system that uses PAM, just like any other utility that uses PAM can use any PAM module. For more information, see pam_ftpusers in the PAM Reference Guide.

Note: If the /etc/ftpusers file doesn't exist, all users are denied access.

The syntax of each line is:

username

where:

username
The account name. (Use one username per line.)
Character: Meaning:
# Comment character. All characters from it to the end of line are ignored.
