Your workspace is the directory where the IDE stores your projects.
By default, the workspace location is
C:\ide-version-workspace on Windows, or
home_directory/ide-version-workspace on Linux.
To store your workspace in another location:
- On Windows:
- Start the IDE and when the Workspace Launcher appears, enter the new location by:
- Manually entering a directory path in the Workspace text field.
You can create a new workspace by entering a new path.
- Clicking Browse and navigating to and choosing a directory from the
file selector.
- Clicking the arrow next to the text field and picking a location in the recent workspaces list.
- If you always want to use the same workspace location, check the box labeled
Use this as the default and do not ask again.
- Click OK to continue loading the IDE.
- On Linux:
- Launch qde with the -data option by running
qde -data path.
Here, path is your workspace directory. Entering a new path creates a new workspace.
Note:
The workspace path must not contain any spaces or non-standard characters.
Although the IDE accepts them, the underlying tools
don't like directory and file names with such characters.
For the list of unacceptable characters, see
"Creating a project for a C or C++ application".
