SOME/IP

Scalable service-Oriented MiddlewarE over IP (SOME/IP) is implemented using the open source implementation of vsomeip.

The version that's implemented is vsomeip 2.0.1. QNX Software Systems redistributes the vsomeip package, but the binaries, tests, and test configuration files are included as part of the QNX Platform for ADAS. The installer includes prebuilt versions of vsomeip but also source that you can find in QNX installation directory/source, where QNX installation directory is the location where the QNX Platform for ADAS was installed on your host.

CAUTION:

When you run any test from vsomeip, you may get an alignment fault due to its implementation. To prevent alignment faults, if you build a target image that includes vsomeip, start procnto with the -ae option. For more information about building images and using procnto, see:

With SOME/IP, you can perform the following tasks:

Run tests to validate that your target confirms to the SOME/IP protocol. For more information, see “Run SOME/IP tests on target.”
Add SOME/IP functionality to your applications. For more information, see “Use SOME/IP with applications.”

You can build an image If you want to run the tests on an Atom C2000 board (x86-based board), you must build your own image. For more information, see “Use SOME/IP on the Atom C2000 board.”
