QNX and Dalian Eastern Display Announce Distribution Agreement for China

Dalian to distribute QNX OS technology and development tools to OEMs and partners in a range of markets, including consumer white goods

BEIJING, February 26, 2014 QNX Software Systems Limited, a global leader in software platforms for connected embedded systems, today announced a distribution agreement with Dalian Eastern Display Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of applications and controls for LCD panels and modules. Under the terms of the agreement, Dalian will distribute QNX® operating system software and development tools, and provide engineering services, to manufacturers and partners in a variety of markets throughout China, including consumer white goods, heavy machinery, medical devices, and industrial automation.

Dalian Eastern Display develops solutions for industrial, medical, automotive, and energy systems and has more than 10,000 embedded device customers in China. Dalian is an existing QNX customer, and the new agreement leverages its expertise in QNX technology to increase adoption of QNX products and services in China’s embedded markets.

Dalian Eastern Display has developed turnkey QNX-based control systems that allow washing machines, refrigerators, high-end air conditioners, and other smart home appliances to connect wirelessly to the Internet. QNX OS and graphics technologies help Dalian Eastern Display achieve fast, reliable performance while reducing the time and effort of developing the systems’ graphical user interfaces.
