QNX Multi-Core Seminar SAN DIEGO

The Transition to Multi-Core: Is your Software Ready?

LUNCH to follow (sponsored by QNX Software Systems)

In today's competitive market, engineering teams are under constant pressure to build systems that deliver rich functionality at the lowest possible cost - and under compressed timeframes. Finding integrated software and hardware platforms that maximize performance while maintaining system integrity and flexibility can be critical success factors.

Join QNX Software Systems for two technical seminars presented by QNX experts Jeff Schaffer, Application Engineer and Kerry Johnson, Senior Product Marketing Manager.

Mr. Schaffer, will explore how modular RTOS architecture enables you to take full advantage of available processing power while ensuring high levels of reliability, upgradability, and scalability. The key to high availability is the ability to isolate faults, and to recover from them rapidly. Systems that provide multiple services, each with high availability requirements, must also ensure that the failure or dynamic replacement of one service doesn't compromise the availability of the remaining services. There will be a comprehensive demonstration provided of system fault recognition and recovery, how upgrades and patches can be done live, without downtime and how user-space device drivers promote faster debugging and greater fault tolerance. Attend and learn the advantages of applying the QNX Neutrino RTOS to your embedded projects.

Mr. Johnson, will discuss the benefits of multi-core processors, such as increasing performance, reducing MIPS per watt and reducing system footprint. Dual-core processors are already available and future generations will move beyond two processing cores. While multi-core processors are rapidly becoming a reality, is your software ready to handle the transition? To date the majority of software has been developed for uni-processor systems. The largest performance benefit will come from software that is developed with concurrency in mind - software that is fully capable of using all the CPU resources in the multi-core processor. Software and system vendors need to chart a course to fully exploit the performance improvements offered by the next generation of multi-core silicon. Attend and learn how the innovative features of the QNX Momentics Multi-Core Edition helps you preserve your existing software base while migrating to multi-core processing environments.

Enjoy coffee and lunch while you learn how to stand apart from your competition - QNX-based products are quicker to develop, perform better in the field and last longer in the market!
