Connect cameras and sensors

You can connect various sensors and cameras to your R-Car V3M Starter board to use live video feeds and live sensor data rather than prerecorded video and sensor data.

You can also connect cameras (GigE Vision compliant) and sensors (lidar) to run with the image. After you connect your sensors to the R-Car V3M Starter board, you must make configuration changes. Depending on the sensors you connect, custom SLM and sensor configuration files may need to be created. For more information, see the Configure sensors and cameras on the reference image section. in this chapter.

Connecting AMI MINICube RDACM21 cameras and board to the ADAS View Solution Kit

You can connect RDACM21 cameras to your board. To do so, you require the ADAS View Solution Kit from Renesas as it has the required serializers to connect the cameras to the board. Follow the instructions provided with the kit to connect the board to the skateboard and cameras.
Note: The ADAS View Solution Kit includes the R-Car H3 Starter board. You can replace the R-Car H3 Starter board with the R-Car V3M Starter board.
Here's what your board may look like using the ADAS View Solution Kit. After you connect your board to the kit, you test it running various applications.

Configure GigE cameras

You can connect GigE cameras (also known as network cameras and IP cameras) that are compliant to the GigE Vision standard. The camera doesn't need to be connected to your target, but it must be connected to the same network as your target.

Configure lidar

You can connect lidar sensors to the R-Car V3M Starter board via an ethernet connection to your network.
