Establishing a data socket

When it's initialized, a cellular data connection becomes available for use by the TCP/IP stack (io-pkt). To send and receive data, the client requests a socket through this stack service; for details on doing so, see the Networking Manager entry in the QNX Neutrino Utilities Reference.

The logging information resulting from a new data socket shows the following activity:

• Requesting of a new PPP connection
• Notification that the PDP is up on the modem (LP_PDP - UP)
• Notification from qwf-cellular-control to net_pps that the ppp0 connection is the net_connected state
• State change to CONNECTED for qwf-cellular-control
