Tether Manager

Found in: Data Runtime Module

The Tether Manager (tetherman) service allows one networking connection to be connected (tethered) to another connection. Typical use cases include tethering a Wi-Fi connection to a Smartphone over Bluetooth or tethering a Wi-Fi MHS connection to a cellular connection, to use the cellular signal as the backhaul internet connection. For QWF, this later case is fully supported.

The tetherman service uses a control object to accept tethering commands, and a status object to report its own state and the state of individual tethering sessions. These PPS objects are found in this directory: /pps/services/tethering/

The service also publishes tethering session status updates (e.g., on, off) to another object: /pps/system/navigator/status/tethering
