Installing the Lauterbach Trace32 In-Circuit Debugger software

After you've verified that you have the correct hardware and software, you can install the Lauterbach Trace32 In-Circuit Debugger software onto your host machine.
To install the Lauterbach debugger software:
  1. Insert the Lauterbach Trace32 installation CD into the CD drive of the host machine.
  2. If InstallShield did not automatically start when you inserted the CD, open Windows Explorer, navigate to the CD drive (typically D:\), then select AutoPlay from the right-click menu.
  3. Follow the steps in the installer to complete the installation of the Lauterbach software, but be sure to make the following selections:
    1. For the Product Type, select ICD In-Circuit Debugger, then click Next (which appears after you make your selection).
    2. For the ICD interface type, select the Ethernet Interface interface type, then click Next.

    3. From the list of supported host operating systems, select PC Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP, then click Next.
    4. Select the CPU items that you want installed that are specific for your target architecture, then click Next.
  4. Continue with the remaining steps of the installation process, installing any other components that you need.
    Ensure that you install the API when prompted. Also, when prompted, specify another location for the PRACTICE script directory.
