IDE Software Developer

Location: Ottawa (Kanata), Ontario

We are a leading tools and operating system provider for the embedded marketplace. Our tools and operating system are used extensively in a wide range of embedded markets including automotive Telematics systems and core networking equipment. Our IDE is based on the Eclipse open source. We are currently looking for a software engineer to work as part of our IDE development team. This individual needs a strong back ground in Java, a passion for technology and a love for what they do.

Job Duties

	As a Member of our IDE development team you will be focused in the areas of target connectivity, system information enhancements, debugging enhancements (protocol, OS interface), customer driven optimizations, multi-component analysis and memory analysis. You will be responsible for the development of new product, maintenance of existing product and supporting customers.
	The above describes essential responsibilities and activities that are typical for an incumbent in this job. This in not an exhaustive list of tasks performed. Depending on organizational requirements, other duties may be assigned.

Experience & Education

	Real programming experience using Java.
	Experience programming in C, C++ or Assembly will be considered an asset.
	Experience using compilers, debuggers, editors and analysis tools for runtime profiling is required.
	Preference will be given to applicants that have direct experience writing plug-ins for the Eclipse framework.
	It is preferable that the applicant have development experience using an IDE.
	Mobility – The ideal candidate will be able to easily travel to Europe, USA or Asia.
	Minimum of College or University graduates or equivalent experience.
	Applicants must have strong Java development skills. Preference will be given to individuals with embedded development skills (any language).
